Simulation Study on the Development Process and Phase Interface Structure of Gas-Liquid Slug Flow in a Horizontal Pipe

Here, a unified 3D numerical model of gas-liquid two-phase flow in horizontal pipe was established using the interface capture method based on open source software package OpenFOAM. Through simulation natural slugging and development process slug under different working conditions, motion, phase structure, pressure velocity field distributions liquid were fully developed analyzed. The results are consistent with experiment. showed that during movement head, there is throwing phenomenon wave-like motion slug. In addition, tail body area have very similar profiles, overall distribution becomes more uniform Moreover, sudden fluctuations at head
